We started by catching up and chatting about what we did for New Years. We spent about twenty minutes discussing the homework from last week. “Finishing up” (unit 12) is actually a review unit and as there are still three more classes, I thought we might leave this aside until the final class. Instead we talked about our homes and neighbourhoods. We finished up with a find the differences activity.

Homework

Please write a paragraph about your dream house and prepare to talk about it next class.

This class started the same way as 100 - a new years catch up and then a homework check. We moved on to the new unit on war. We discussed some idioms and famous quotes. The 90 minutes flew by as quickly as usual.

Homework

Please prepare to relate an experience of conflict resolution as per p. 81.

We started with a catch up and a discussion about New years resolutions. We moved on to today’s topic of herbivore men.  After checking the vocabulary we discussed the issue. Homework

Please complete p.81 and read p.82 on new media v old media for next class.

400

We started by catching up and chatting about what we did for New Years. We then took a look at the main international stories from last year using an Economist magazine recap. We turned to the text for an explanation and a discussion.
