After
a brief catch up chat, the students exchanged clues about different countries
with a half crossword exercise. We then checked the homework from last week and
made short presentations on our ideal trips. The students then took turns role
playing travel problems. We looked at some corrections before finishing up.
Homework
As
per the syllabus, I asked the students to review and study vocabulary
encountered over the course of the semester.
Class
300
The
class discussed their homework and shared ideas on jobs/money. We took a look
at a feature from Time magazine on the what the best jobs in the USA are (#1 is
audiologist fyi). We discussed possible meanings of money related idioms before
checking the answers.

200
We
warmed up with a quick catch up chat before doing the same countries crossword
activity as used in class 100. We spent some time going through the usage of
"too/enough". We then went through the text on Denmark, stopping to discuss
agnosticism v atheism, and made comparisons with Japan.

write a short introduction to your fictional country - Welcome to Barryland/
Toshiland/ Norikoland etc...
Class
400
We
started off by going through the reading on page 44 and checking the answers
from page 42. As usual, there were many questions relating to vocabulary. We
had a good discussion on the topic of the evolution of languages. We looked at
a Time magazine article on what makes some blended words 'sticky' - cronut, brunch
etc. while others, wonut, dunch are less so.

Please
start thinking about topics for your end of semester presentation (a global
issue). Isaac will give more information next week.
